In our assignments throughout the semester, we utilized referencing sources as means of establishing credibility in our work. We evaluate and integrate other works to support information we present in our writing. Plagiarism is also something to consider when referencing as it infringes on an author’s entitlement to their own work. Thus, if we want to convey information from another author, we quote or paraphrase their words to avoid plagiarism. Also we cite sources that we reference to give the author credit where it’s due and to establish credibility that we acknowledge others’ work. We usually use APA format when utilizing citations in this class.

In assignments where we reference other works, we use a references page (Figure 1) to list our sources. Citations are usually formatted with hanging indentations, alphabetized by author, and cited using APA format.
